I popped into the fish and chipper offices a couple of days before Christmas and asked the nice lady at reception to stop paper deliveries until today.
In a matter of seconds, she said “all done” and I ticked it off the pre-Xmas madness list.
It should have started again today, but didn’t. Anyway, I also discovered this morning that as part of his Neighbourhood Watch duties, Dad had dutifully trotted down to the southside every day to have a look at the house (and use our wheelie bin).
Newspapers turned up on an intermittent basis – about six in all. Hey, hang on a minute! Haven’t we read this somewhere before? Nice to see things have improved. Not.

I’m liking your photo-recaptioning.
It’s a subtle art. Or not subtle. But art.
Maybe you need to live Northside. (That’ll get the Missus going!). I had no problem last time I did this.
the other point to that is you are scarier than I am….we’re just white trash second-class citizens down on the Southside…
