OK, That’s One Down…

Southland District Council plays the secrecy game:

A dozen buildings identified as potentially earthquake-prone by the Southland District Council are used by emergency services or civil defence….he would not name the buildings identified as potentially earthquake-prone but said it was public information.  Some buildings identified as potentially earthquake-prone were owned by the district council, he said.

Then today….whoops, they named one:

The Wyndham Library is shifting – but it’s just down the road.

The current library has been deemed susceptible to earthquakes, so library and council services are to be shifted while a decision is made on the building’s future.

Local government…putting the eh? in eh? since the dawn of time….
