Hopefully she paid her own way down, but knowing how Parliament works, I doubt it:
University of Otago graduate and Green Party politician Holly Walker is calling on Dunedin students to get involved in politics – even if that means signing up to another party.
Ms Walker, who was in town recruiting Green Party members at Clubs Day on Wednesday, said students – many of whom had just reached voting age – should choose the party which best matched their beliefs.
Um, why couldn’t the Greens’ resident Dunedin MP do this? Ms Walker continues:
”I have been coming to O-Week every year since I was elected. It is a great way to meet students and it’s always nice for me personally, because I spent so much time here.”
Your taxes. Paying for trips down memory lane and recruitment drives since 2011….
Having the Green’s youngest MP travel to Universities to encourage students to become politically involved and “choose the party that best matched their beliefs” is a waste of money? I guess the fewer intelligent young people involved in politics the better, as I can’t imagine many would vote for National.
…and didn’t I see an article the other day saying that young Holly incurred the least expenses of all MPs during the last quarter.
Yes, it is a waste of money.
